International Women's Day Spotlight: Jordan Curet
As part of International Women's Day, we have met with some of the fantastic Women here at Red Equipment to celebrate their achievements. In this blog, we speak with our North America Marketing Manager, Jordan Curet.

What inspired you to work in the outdoor industry, and what brought you to Red Equipment?
I love to be in the outdoors, so the opportunity to work in the outdoor industry was always my dream. I was introduced to Red almost serendipitously – as an avid paddleboarder working in PR when Red was looking for someone to manage their PR in North America.
What are some of the biggest barriers women still face in the outdoors, and how can brands like Red Equipment help break them down?
Women in the outdoors still face barriers like lack of representation, access to properly designed gear, safety concerns, and outdated stereotypes.
We’re passionate about breaking down these barriers by promoting female representation in marketing, designing high-quality gear that truly fits women’s needs, and supporting women-led expeditions, guides, and creators. Creating inclusive communities, hosting skill-building events, and amplifying diverse voices can also make the outdoors feel more welcoming for everyone.
Many outdoor spaces and industries have historically been male-dominated, making it harder for women to feel included or supported. But I love when I look around Red how many absolutely badass women I see leading the teams or creating new products.
As a B Corp, Red Equipment is committed to doing business better. How does that mission align with your role and personal values?
As passionate outdoor enthusiasts, we all share a responsibility to protect the places we love to explore. Seeing that promoted at a brand level is so important to me. Also, B Corp certification represents a commitment to supporting employees by upholding high standards in worker well-being, fairness, and overall job satisfaction. As a B Corp, Red prioritizes their employees through equity, safety, inclusion, development, transparency and so much more. But I love that the company I work for cares about me as a person, not just an employee.

As a B Corp, Red Equipment is committed to doing business better. How does that mission align with your role and personal values?
As someone who has always championed the importance of supporting community groups, it was both a passion and a true privilege to finally launch the Red Foundation in 2024. While philanthropic efforts have been a core part of our team for years, bringing the Foundation to life and managing its strategy was a small but significant contribution to our overall B Corp score. Every piece contributes to the larger goal – and receiving our B Corp certification was a deeply rewarding milestone for me.
It holds us accountable in everything we do, and I take that responsibility seriously. Now we need to build on the great work we’ve already done and continue to make a meaningful impact.
Can you share a moment when you felt you made a real impact?
A few years ago, I was fortunate to plan and organise our Red Ride Outs. It was the perfect chance to create an event specifically for women in the outdoors – a space where they could come together, share their stories, and celebrate all that they do. This idea had been something Charlie and I had often discussed – and on top of that, it was a great excuse to meet all these incredible women and go paddling with them!
The theme was ‘Challenges in the Outdoors and Challenging the Outdoor Space’. Instead of simply celebrating women in the outdoors, we wanted to address the broader issues, focusing on women who were working to change the status quo in the outdoor industry or who were still battling challenges within the outdoor space.
We invited a diverse group of women for a weekend of paddleboarding, swimming, running, walking, and thought-provoking discussions. It’s a weekend I’ll always look back on with fond memories. Alongside my amazing female teammates at Red, it is something we can all feel proud of.
What does “Life’s Better by the Water” mean to you personally?
To me, it represents a core belief that many of us share at Red: spending time in or around water has a profound impact on every aspect of your life. It’s a simple yet beautiful reminder of the benefits it brings to enrich your life.
What’s one change you’d love to see in the outdoor world for the next generation of women and girls?
I’d love to see a time when women and girls are free from internal struggles and external pressures to conform to a certain appearance. These mental challenges have a profound impact on women in all aspects of life, and they can be even more pronounced in the outdoor industry – especially if you feel under-represented or lack the right gear or sizing to try something new. While positive steps are being made, we need to teach young girls that how they think they should look should never be a barrier to experiencing the incredible benefits of outdoor adventure – or anything else they may want to achieve, for that matter.
How do you personally champion diversity and inclusion in your work at Red?
I actively work to champion diversity and inclusion at Red by ensuring our marketing, partnerships, and outreach reflect a wide range of voices, backgrounds, and experiences. I also try to be the example for the next gen – chasing new adventures and pushing outdoor exploration on a paddleboard.
