What mums actually want for Mother’s Day

With Mothering Sunday coming up on 30th March, we asked some mums in the Red Equipment team what they really want for Mother’s Day. And while gifts and presents are always welcome, it turns out they’d like more than just chocolates and flowers. Let's take a look at what they'd prefer this Mother's Day.

Helen Shears – Red Equipment Chief Financial Director

“I’d love for my sons to come out for the day with no argument about leaving the house. Maybe for a paddle down the river together, or a hike and picnic on the moors? Failing that, I would take small things – like shutting cupboards after opening them, or flushing the toilet!

“As for a present, what I’d most like to receive is a Cooler Backpack.”

Cat Heraty – Red Equipment Lead Product Designer

“On Mother’s Day I’d love to have some time to myself and get up and out before the household wakes. Getting out in the morning light and fresh air helps me to escape for a while. I’d go for a hike and then a swim.

“I love my Pursuit Robe for a hike with a flask full of coffee and maybe a treat from my favourite café – I always take a route that passes there. The Pursuit is really breathable so I don’t overheat, the pockets hold everything I need, and it’s light enough to tie around my waist or pack into an Adventure Backpack if I’m not wearing it...”

Catherine Morris – Red Equipment Commercial Director

“An extra six hours in the day would be nice… But failing that, this year I’ll be spending Mother’s Day trying to keep up with the kids on the slopes – so I’ll settle for staying warm!

“I’m planning on packing a new EVO Slimline Parka to keep me cosy in the evenings.”

Robyn Dawson – Red Equipment Communications Manager

“With baby arriving this May, I’m definitely going to be in need of some last-minute relaxation and freedom to get outside for some much needed ‘me time’. One of my favourite ways to recharge is by spending time in nature – there’s something about fresh air and green spaces that always helps to reset and calm my mind.

“I’ll be bringing along my Adventure Backpack, and a Pursuit Robe would be the perfect addition, especially as the weather – fingers crossed! – should be warm enough for a lighter weight jacket by then…”
