We are lucky to be in a region of lakes and rivers so close to Paris. Upstream from Paris, the Marne river flows further into the Seine and offers a natural SUP area.
A natural river that takes you on a historic journey, from passing the chocolate factory Menier which is listed in the inventory of historical monuments, to a small path between the trees on the lake of Vaires - the Olympic site of the future Games of rowing 2024! The largest canoeing site in the world with its incredible artificial whitewater rivers.
Several parking are possible along La Marne river or on the Olympic base.
The easiest launch point is the bridge of Vaires sur marne, facing the car park.
Near Paris, there are hotels everywhere or BnB hosts who will be happy to welcome you.
Not only will you be on the world's first Olympic site dedicated to kayaking and rowing, but you will also be able to eat! Not the great French cuisine, but what a pleasure to picnic in front of the lake or on the banks of the Marne, if the sun is in the game, it's just paradise.
